Hello everyone!  I am Mrs. Gordon (Stacey) and I am excited to get to know you!

I live in North Andover with Mr. Gordon, my two sons, Joshua (8) Jacob (6) and our dog Kipper (11). My sons are happily attending our neighborhood elementary school where they are entering Grade 1 and 2. They play soccer, baseball, and basketball throughout the year. I earned my BS in Early Childhood Special Education from UMaine Farmington in 2002, I've been a licensed Massachusetts educator since 2004, and I have been working at Pine Glen since the fall of 2005, mostly in Kindergarten.

(Picture to follow)  Here is a message from Ms. Trahan (Katharine).  "I graduated with my degree in Elementary Education in May of 2016. I am currently in graduate school for Moderate Special Education K-8 at Bridgewater State University. I am from Burlington and attended Pine Glen.  I am very happy to be back and I look forward to working with your child!"

Kindergarten School Hours

The Kindergarden day starts at 8:35am and ends at 1:10pm

Late Arrivals - If the door is locked upon arrival, an adult must walk their child to the office and sign them in.

No arrivals earlier than 8:20am (unless child attends the before-school program). Staff are not available to monitor students earlier than 8:20am.

We encourage you to send your child to and from school on his or her assigned bus beginning on the first day of school

Children who arrive by bus will enter the school through the main entrance

If you drive your child to school, you must use the horseshoe shaped driveway closest to the academic wing. Follow the traffic pattern around the cul de sac and students should exit vehicles from the driver's side.

A bus is provided for all Kindergarten students at 1:10.  If possible, the bus will drop off your child at or close to your home.  An adult must be present at the bus stop in order for your child to be dropped off.

Parents and other approved adults can meet us on the map for pickup.  Adults other than parents/guardians must be prepared to show their photo ID.

If your child will be dismissed early or there is a change to his or her dismissal routine, you must provide a written note.  No emails or phone calls please.

Communication Folder

Students are given a green communication folder at the beginning of the school year. It will be sent home each evening and may contain important notices, forms, and notes from the teacher. Please check the communication folder and return it in your child's backpack every day. Please include any completed forms or any notes you wish the teacher to see.

School lunch is available for $3.00.  Milk, water, or juice is available for $0.50. School lunch choices vary daily; please refer to the lunch menu available here.

Please do not send cash. You may deposit money into your child's account through or write a check payable to Burlington School Lunch and include it in your child's communication folder.

We go outside for recess daily.  While we do stay indoors during extreme weather, we try to go outside whenever possible.

Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for the weather.
  • Sneakers help prevent injuries when children are running and climbing
  • Seasonal clothing is important. Please provide mittens/gloves, hats, and warm coats as needed.
  • Boots are optional, but please send sneakers to wear inside the classroom.

Encouraging Independence

It is important that your child's' clothing be manageable.  Please practice tying shoe laces, zippering and unzippering coats, and buttoning shirts.

Encourage your child to pack and unpack his or her own backpack.

If you'd like to send an extra set of clothing in case of an emergency, please sent them in a labeled bag.  It will be returned at the end of the year.

Security and Procedures

All parents and visitors must enter the school through the front door. All doors will be locked at 8:35 after which time you can ring the doorbell to request entry.

If you volunteer, you must sign in and receive a volunteer ID badge.

If your child will be absent or arriving after 9:00, you must call the Child Absentee Line at 781-273-7644 before 9:00 concerning the absence.
