Today's happenings

We enjoyed our sing along and feast today during our lunch time.  On Wednesday, we will have a half day of school.  This means the students are dismissed at 11:30 and will be riding their morning bus back to their morning bus stop.  Thank you for sending in your slip indicating how your child will be dismissed.  Also, we will not be eating lunch in school so please be sure your child has a nutritious breakfast and send them with a tree nut/peanut free snack and drink.

We also sang happy birthday to Dexter after he shared his birthday board with us! What a great day!

Congratulations Nathan!

This week Nathan received a Student of the Week Award.  He has been appropriate, safe, and kind to all his peers and is a hard worker who leads by example.  Congratulations Nathan!

Happy Birthday Sophie!

On Friday we sang Happy Birthday to Sophie and she shared her birthday poster with us.  There were lots of smiles and laughter!

Builders Panel

This week we wrapped up our block area presentations with Sofia, Nea, and Braeden.   Each student on the panel spoke about a piece of the project they built.  Then the audience asked questions to gain a better understanding of the project as a whole.  We are learning the difference between a question (asking for information) and a comment (giving information).  This is a safe space for students to share their ideas and have conversations.

Kindergarten/Fourth Grade Animal Projects

Here are a few pictures from the first meeting with our fourth grade buddies.  Students worked together to read books about animals for the purpose of understanding what traits belong to living things. Next they chose a beanie baby to represent one animal they would like learn more about.

We will be meeting several times throughout December.

Halloween Fun at school and home!

Thank you Mrs. Kim for taking some time to visit with us.

Mrs. Kim came in to share a story and Halloween craft with the students of 102.

Mrs. Kim showed us how to create a paper ghost decoration!

Here are the pictures that you all shared with me.  I can add more to this post if you send them to me.  The green Lego character and black ninja are my boys (Jacob is 7 and Joshua is 8).  Students enjoyed presenting their pictures in class today.  Every time they speak in front of the group it's an opportunity to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
