We enjoyed our sing along and feast today during our lunch time. On Wednesday, we will have a half day of school. This means the students are dismissed at 11:30 and will be riding their morning bus back to their morning bus stop. Thank you for sending in your slip indicating how your child will be dismissed. Also, we will not be eating lunch in school so please be sure your child has a nutritious breakfast and send them with a tree nut/peanut free snack and drink.
We also sang happy birthday to Dexter after he shared his birthday board with us! What a great day!

This week we wrapped up our block area presentations with Sofia, Nea, and Braeden. Each student on the panel spoke about a piece of the project they built. Then the audience asked questions to gain a better understanding of the project as a whole. We are learning the difference between a question (asking for information) and a comment (giving information). This is a safe space for students to share their ideas and have conversations.

Here are a few pictures from the first meeting with our fourth grade buddies. Students worked together to read books about animals for the purpose of understanding what traits belong to living things. Next they chose a beanie baby to represent one animal they would like learn more about.
We will be meeting several times throughout December.

On Thursday, December 1, 2016 Pine Glen School is hosting parent/teacher conferences. Students have the day off to allow for parents and teachers to meet throughout the day. I am planning on a 15 minute conference for each student. Please fill out this google form and from here I can create a schedule for the day. If you have a schedule conflict and you are not able to rearrange your day, please contact me and we can plan another day and time that works better. Also, be aware that Kindergarten Progress Reports will be sent home in January so I will share with you the progress of your child up to this point.
Thanks for all your support!

Kindergarten earned more than 20 hoot cards across the grade level! That means that on Friday November 4th all students are invited to wear pajamas to school! Please keep an eye on the weather and send appropriate outer wear to assure your child is plenty warm during recess.

Thank you Mrs. Kim for taking some time to visit with us.
Mrs. Kim came in to share a story and Halloween craft with the students of 102.
Mrs. Kim showed us how to create a paper ghost decoration!
Here are the pictures that you all shared with me. I can add more to this post if you send them to me. The green Lego character and black ninja are my boys (Jacob is 7 and Joshua is 8). Students enjoyed presenting their pictures in class today. Every time they speak in front of the group it's an opportunity to boost their confidence and self-esteem.
